Anyone ever left the NHS, worked elsewhere then returned to NHS work?

Just that really..
I've been in the NHS (band 4) for a couple of years but have been looking for work closer to home and with better hours to fit around DC.
The commute to current job is a nightmare, takes me about 2 hours on public transport with all the messing around, waiting, traffic..
I've got a couple of interviews lined up closer to home with ideal hours.
Ideally I would have preferred to stay within the NHS but I've been looking for an NHS role suitable for me and closer to home for the last 18months, nothing advertised. That's why I started looking outside the NHS.
Question is, if I make the leap out of the NHS and work for another organisation, would I be able to returnto the NHS at a later date (let's say if an opportunity closer to home came up?).
Or would the NHS be reluctant to re-employ someone who has previously left?
Would love to stay with NHS, but I live in a remote, rural area and the opportunities are very scarce tbh. I'm registered for job alerts and on Trac jobs but nothing suitable has been advertised in the whole time I've been looking. Would even consider consider going down a band just for the convenience of being closer to home.

The NHS would definitely re employ you ...absolutely no reason why not .

People come back all the time

No problem whatsoever!

No one would question looking for a job nearer to home then returning to NHS if an opportunity arose near your home. Your NHS experience would be an advantage

Absolutely! People come and go all the time, I have! It’s like a revolving door!
