Local authority interview any tips?

Feeling a little anxious.

I'm a solicitor by trade, on a break with young children.

A part time WFH position with the local authority came up, non legal, but in areas I specialised in. I got an interview!

Just wondering if anyone has any advice. It's via teams, that's good. There are three of them. I've not been sent anything to prepare like a presentation or anything.

It's a committee based role in adult and child protection. I've read the most recent reports, gone over legislation changes etc.

Just want a handhold I suppose really and any advice. Feel a bit lonely and unsure without work colleagues to bounce off.

Not hot much advice as I'm in a Similar role.
I have an interview tomorrow for a post 2 bands down as my current post is mainly child protection and not completely family friendly.

I've been reading the job advert and matching up my skills to what they are looking for.

My interview is also on teams and I see you say that's good. Do you think it's better to be via teams. I feel so much more nervous that it's on teams.

When is your interview ? Hope it goes well.

@terraclutter it was Friday.

Yes I did as you suggested and matched to that.

Teams I just meant I was ok to use that.

It was ok. Four people interviewing. A lot covered. They said two other candidates had done role before so I'm out I suspect. Was good experience though.

They didn't ask anything about me, my cv, my application or skills. Was all about what would you change, what are current issues, current benefits. Up to date knowledge of changes, reports, case studies etc.

Good luck for yours.

Hi @brokengate
Glad it's over for you. I think the build up is often worse than the actual interview. My interview is with the NHS so we don't really use CV's. I'm frantically trying to read up as much as I can but not sure I'm taking much in today.

Hope you hear good news but as you say good experience if you are unsuccessful this time. Hopefully you will get good feedback.

Ahh yes, I see, I'm ok using the technology but would rather be face to face. Can't wait til this time tomorrow when it's over.
