How long to expect to wait after 1st interview?

I had a job interview last Weds for a large corporate company, if successful I would then have a psychometric test and then final stage a 2nd interview. Does anyone know roughly how long I should expect to hear back from 1st interview? Is it a bad sign that I haven’t yet heard yet as it’s almost a week?

Quickest I’ve heard is same day, longest was 2 or 3 months when I emailed saying ‘as I haven’t heard from you I assume I have been unsuccessful but would be grateful for any feedback’ I got a reply back almost immediately saying HR were behind and I’d got the job. As a general rule I’ve found the larger the company the longer it takes.

Thank you Billybagpuss. Wow 2-3 months?!
😂 Yeah I guess in these times it might take longer than normal times if most people are working from home hence Communication with other departments probably takes longer. Also I need to remind myself there are probably a lot more applicants per job role following the employment crisis post pandemic. It is a big company so maybe that’s what’s happening. Just frustrating waiting to hear.

Keep fingers crossed, it’s still early days especially if they interviewed a lot. Also when I’ve interviewed people in the past we may have had 2 or 3 days set aside, not necessarily all in the same week.

Hate that waiting around!

OMG at waiting 3 months and then finding out you were successful @billybagpuss!!!! Did you take the job and what were they like to work for.. that alone would have raised major red flags for me!

I tend to self impose a 72 hour rule after which time I assume that if I haven't heard it's a 'no' but this is just my defensive pessimism speaking and is in no way scientific.

Yay well done @thebeachismyhappyplace2 (it’s my happy place too, if the job is on the beach take it)

@JorisBohnson2 I did take it, it was good money, launching a new venture that they threw loads of money at. Best, most enjoyable job I’ve ever had as everything was new. Sadly the company fronting it underestimated how much it was going to cost so pulled it after 6 months and I got a very generous redundancy. Definitely no regrets as I then had a good 4 months salary to give me the buffer to set up my own, more child friendly hours, business.

However had it not been a major international company fronting it, I wouldn’t have taken it.

@thebeachismyhappyplace2 just realised I’d misread, did you get it?
