Full stack web developer

Hi to everyone. I would like to know if anyone of you has started a full stack web developer course in London.

I have started with udemy and I like it a lot, however I do realise that they give basics and don’t provide jobs after that.

Could you recommend more free online courses to expand my knowledge that I should take up.

Going to bootcamp is an option, I know it’s expensive I’m willing to consider (however money is tight) and there are so many and I don't know which one is the best and reasonable.

Thank you

Try CodeFirst Girls!

Also google ‘Reddit - web dev resources’ and you’ll find loads of links.

Also if you don’t mind my asking - what are your goals? Are you trying to get a job as quickly as possible? Or looking to go into the field

I’m a programmer so can give you some specific advice depending on your goals

I did one but it was free. There are lots of scholarships and apprenticeships now so no need to fork out thousands!

Code First girls is a good recommendation, Codebar has workshops and info. Makers Academy offer scholarships and apprenticeships periodically so look out for those.

Freecodecamp is good for you to do in your own time.

@karalime Is this a coding? Or full stack?

Yes I did a full stack bootcamp, currently a front end developer.

Most courses are full stack. Makers does Ruby I believe but you can learn JavaScript for both front and back end.

Haven't you tried just reading some articles about web development? It helped me a lot learn more about this sphere and in-house development vs outsourcing, and even though I'm not a good developer myself, and I can't come up with a decent product, this knowledge was still useful for me when I was improving my business.

Very informative!
Thanks for the good advice!

I'm a bit late to the party, but @karalime do you mind me asking which bootcamp you did?

Have a look at this list of bootcamps funded by the dept of education:

www.gov.uk/government/publications/find-a-skills-bootcamp/list-of-skills-bootcamps

I am a full stack developer (started off as front end after my bootcamp and joined a company in a junior role before going freelance). Happy to answer any questions.

@Canaloha this is a great resource thanks!
