Can’t think of stressful scenario example

It’s been a few years since I last had a proper job after having kids and have an interview tomorrow - my memory is so bad I can’t remember anything that sticks out from a particular stressful scenario and I know I will get asked that question. Can anyone help me make one up please with for a sales job or in operations on a trading floor in the city.

Have you not had stressful moments with your kids? I'd rather use a real example than someone else's made up example!

God don't make one up!

Surely whatever job you've had, you've had a stroppy customer or senior bod or a really tough deadline or some kind of emergency or something. Or a stressful scenario from your personal life (not something kid-related though, no point activating that bias).

Or think through how you would handle the kind of stressful situations that might arise in that job, which are potentially going to involve madness swirling around you, people screaming at you, late nighters, etc. That should trigger some memories.

Thanks, no definately won’t is a kids example (that would be odd!)
I’m sure there were so many and maybe I’m over thinking but my memory is honestly shocking! I blame baby brain!

This is a question which often comes up at interviews so you do well to prepare one. I chose several real scenarios that had happened and rehearsed talking them out. The "version" that I eventually came up with was not always 100% what had actually happened. More likely it was the embellished version of how I would have dealt with it using hindsight. However no one could prove that.

If you have done customer facing work one could illustrate an angry customer complaint and how you resolved or attempted to resolve it.

Another could involve problems within a team and how they were resolved. If you have experience of being a team leader/supervisor its important to show how you might resolve a performance difficulty with a team member.

If you are one of those people who insist upon being 100% honest you can always cite how you actually did deal with a situation, what you learned from it, and how you would handle it now in hindsight.
