Partner being bullied and unfairly treated in the workplace.

My partner feels he is being bullied and unfairly treated in the workplace with uncharacteristically low review scores and lots of other things (he has a long list). I would agree with him from what I know. HR have been involved but seem to be very clicky with his manager although he has only discussed some of it so far as he's nervous of the implications of opening a can of worms and going further or to more senior HR when he needs the job. Is there anyone independent he can get free or cheap employment law advice from please? I hate seeing what he is going through and feel it is so wrong. Thanks

Legal advice doesn’t generally come free or cheap, at best you may get a short initial consultation with an employment lawyer but it is likely to be too broad to really help. CAB is free, ACAS is free. Not enough information in your post to guess whether these might be useful to you though.

The best places for free advice are ACAS, CAB or Trade Union.

If you have legal cover on house or car insurance you may be able to get paid legal advice.

The first step is to do a time line with evidence, as this would be the starting point for a solicitor.

Is he in a trade union? If not contact acas.

How long has he been there? If it's less than 2 years then he might as well just start looking for something else.

Please ask him to document as factually as he can whatever incidents of bullying he has experienced - times dates the nature and any witnesses.

Worth checking the company policies as well, if he feels he is not being treated in accordance with one of them.

I would agree with trying the Union and ACAS
