Does anyone know how many days a week you need to be based in the office to get the London weighting salary if you are blended working?

But it may depend on where yiur home address is - so if you live within the M25 but work from home you might still be entitled to it.

It will vary from department to department, but I would expect there to be a policy on the Intranet. Look for the pay policy or staff handbook or COVID guidance.

Depends on if the WFH is part of your contract. My WFH arrangements (pre-pandemic) have always been covered under informal arrangements (moving between different dept).

Usually it’s more days in the office than wfh. Whether this changes or not because of covid remains to be seen, I’m expecting to work 2 in the office 3 at home and retain my London salary when we return to the office.

I don't live anywhere near London but my last job was a London headcount role. I was given the choice of working in London 3 days a week with 2 WFH or my nearest regional office and being eligible for London weighting, or working in London 1-2 days a week, with the rest split between WFH and local office (but for me to choose how that worked out).without LW. If I had LW I had to pay my own travel to London and couldn't claim expenses, if I had the regional salary all expenses were covered. It is £10k just for a season ticket from where I live and LW was only an extra £4k so I chose to go without it.

So for my dept it was 3 days or more.

Thank you, I have an interview and I'm trying to work out how many days I can feasibly actually work in the office (financially) getting a bit ahead of myself!

We had an employee relocate from London - we paid a regional salary with expenses to London when needed - usually once a week - we felt leaving the travel to london to be paid out of salary would lead to employee finding excuses on not coming into London - we expected the travel to london to be more expensive than london weighting.

Sorry for late post, I work for a gov department, did you get confirmation from HR about the 3 days wfh? As we have been told 2 days max or will lose London weighting ? Please let me know.

Our HR are still trying themselves in knots about it but the depts making policies about it so far seem to be saying at least 2 days in the office to get London pay. Every dept will probably do the same or they become less competitive, but of course it isn’t guaranteed until it’s actual HR policy.
