Redundancy Questions.... help!

There is a chance that my office will be closed, therefore i will be made redundant. However it is then likely that i will be employed by my european office and working from home.

Does anyone know how this works? Will i still be entitled to my child tax credits? Is the tax the same?

We are going to find out what will happen at the end of the week, but i want to get myself prepared as i know that they wont be aware of UK law.

I have search on acas and directgov but to no avail.

Any info would be appreciated, TIA.

Nip don't know anything particularly about tax credits but have you seen this to work out whether you will still be entitled?

Nip · 06/11/2007 14:48

thank you - it looks like i will still be entitled to that. I just have to now work out the rest! I'm quite worried at the moment and am just trying to foresee any questions that may come up.

I need someone in employment law to come along.... I may be waiting a while!

Nip you may need a tax expert I would say, not an employment expert. I know a lot about employment law but virtually nothing about tax.

Try legal/money matters.

If you are getting paid by the same employer your tax should be the same should it not?

Nip · 06/11/2007 16:02

well i'm hoping so. I honestly done know about the whole - being made redundant and then getting re-employed by another site!

If your office is closed and you stay employed by the company but just report into a different office you are not redundant.
