I am so unhappy in my job

I have worked zero contract in a warehouse setting job for almost six years. Before the pandemic, shifts were allocated based on favouritism and who was friendly with managers which meant some could work every day while others go without for weeks. Work is unskilled and anyone with basic training could do it but pays relatively well. Managers were rude and when complaints are raised by agency staff, it is swept under the carpet and the staff is blacklisted. There are several other subtle abuses you dare not point out for fear of losing shifts. Since the pandemic, the work has become essential. Safety measures are hardly adhered to. When someone goes off sick for covid, we are never informed and no one in contact has ever been asked to quarantine to my knowledge. Recently, I was advised I had underlining condition not listed on the shielding list but to be careful. I informed my then immediate manager that I would like to work alone due to this so as to minimize my risk as permanent staff do. This would not impact my performance in any way. This information was ignored and I was always more or less compelled to work with someone else who may or may not even be wearing mask in a very small space which makes social distancing impossible. I was particularly upset yesterday when I was again asked to work with someone else. I was more or less told to suck it up as the business need is above my safety, manager said he needed to maximize the space. I dont want to be the difficult employee. I dont get paid If I dont work and leaving the job is not an immediate option. Issues in this job have been ongoing for long but am now at my breaking point as this current one is a threat to my health and that of other casual staff like me. Management and union will definitely not do anything about it. Please advise and cheer me up. Thanks.

I'm not sure what to advise but it does sound rubbish. Have you tried ACAS? They were so helpful with my employment issue.
