How to prep for interview with very generic job description?

I'm really hoping that someone has some experience of this. Applied for a job that looks really interesting after a call to the recruiting manager to learn more. The job is so much more than what's on the job description but the interviews in this organisation pretty much stick to the job description/personal spec in terms of questions.

This is the part where I'm tying myself up in knots. Prior to interviews, I tend to have a few examples prepared that fit around the job description in a STAR format. With this one though, the JD is so generic that I'm struggling to 'think of a time when'. Has anyone ever had anything similar?

The interview is tomorrow morning so running out of time to prep Confused. Help me?!

The 'think of a time' questions I have had experience of invariably involve an improvement to an existing working practice, a new initiative you have implemented and managing stressful situations/balancing workloads.

That's quite similar to my experience @FasterthanBolt. It's a project management role so while I can probably think up examples on the spot, I'd prefer to have something prepped. It's a strange one!

Project management ones I can think of would be tell us about a time when

  • you have had to engage with/talk round/push back on senior stakeholders
  • a project wasn't meeting milestone/budget/objectives
  • you had to change/tailor your approach/behaviour/Comms to suite the audience
