How much to put up with for the money - jump or stay put?

I'm in a relatively well paid job, which I have been in for years and have enjoyed mostly. Lately my job has become highly stressful, I feel unsupported, slightly hung out to dry, and lacking in any upside bar the salary!

I feel concerned about the future, my DH is low paid, and I'm by far the main wage earner. We would never get by on his salary alone.

I have good terms of employment re leave, pension etc, but I'm so fed up of never seeing my DCs even though I'm currently wfh, waking up at 4am in a work related panic every day, 10+ hours of zoom calls daily, and not being able too see a way out. I'm constantly catastrophising, and worrying.

I just can't decide whether to stick it out for the money, or jump ship - probably for a less well paid job with worst terms, and less flexibility/autonomy.

Is the misery and stress just par for the course for a middle management job? The thought of still having all this crap for another 20 years of working life fills me with dread.

Why not get a similar job but different company?

Can DH earn more? If not now can you make a plan so he can earn more and you can earn less in a not so stressful role?

DH was made redundant a while back, took a much lower paid role and is now trying to claw his way back up the career ladder. In the near future he is unlikely to reach much more than half my salary, which we'd struggle on.

My experience is in quite a niche sector which has very scarce opportunities locally, and although my skills are relatively transferable, higher paid /senior roles often expect significant experience in whatever the specific sector is. I think I'd need to take quite a pay cut (still leaving enough to live on), and less benefits.
