Should I tell my boss I'm pregnant?

Hi all

So I'm currently 8 weeks pregnant and just recently I'm finding every little thing stressing me out. I suffered a miscarriage last year around this time and being pregnant again I'm a bit anxious. Work can sometimes be stressful not helping. I keep wondering if I should sit down with my boss and let him know I'm pregnant, I'm sure he would be very supportive and make reasonable adjustments . However as times are tough at the minute I am worried about redundancy. We already had one round of redundancies and I was lucky enough to stay even though I've only been with the company a year. Currently other departments are going through the same process and I'm worried that next time I might not be chosen to stay as now only the best staff are left and I was last in. I worry that maybe letting them know I'm pregnant may help their decision to chose me if anymore redundancies in my department are made. In order to be paid maternity pay I would need to get to 25 weeks without being made redundant anyway and I don't think I could keep it from them for this long as I'm starting to get a belly already. Also I don't want to be secretive about it especially if they would need to find someone to replace me when I'm on maternity leave and giving them little time is not fair. When should I tell them?

I told my manager when I was about 6 weeks but I was exhausted and sick so thought he should know if I keep disappearing. I work from home, have done for years, but thought it would only be fair to let him know.
A company can't make you redundant just because you're pregnant.
I think you should speak to your boss and let them know so that they can help you/give you time off if you need it xx
