I'm currently trying to sort out the finances of our local After School Group and I was wondering if any of you ladies out there have particular experience of finding ways of getting help with paying for AfterSchoolCare.
I am aware of the Family Tax Credit scheme - but I've heard stories of it being difficult to navigate - but "on paper" it looks to me like a very useful scheme to help parents who are on lower incomes to be able to afford the cost of childcare. So anybody got experience of this sort of assistance - good or bad - I'd be delighted to hear of it. Particularly if anybody knows of the existence of a genuine "Easy to Understand Guide to Childcare Support via Family Tax Credit" sort of thing would be great!
Also, I"m looking at the sort of costs people are paying for such a service - both Private and "Publicly Supported" so if anybody has got any information which they might think helpful - pile it on.
I'm in Scotland, so I have already looked at the Out of School Network website and am exploring that - but anybody who's got a good source of "how to structure fees for AfterSchool Projects" again, would be very helpful.
Tips & hints, things to watch out for etc, all contributions gratefully received.
