Flexible working

I have had flexible working since 2016 this was done through a statutory request which was accepted and was made permanent, I have worked the same 2 days (backshift)since it was agreed as my mother cares for my daughter while I work as she works mornings .my employer has now tried to change my shifts without consulting me. Their are other employees who have flexible and they are still being allowed to continue with their set days even though their kids are older than mine, my boss says i shouldn't need it anymore as my child is due to go to high school and I can leave her in the house for 12 hours on her own. What are my rights ?

My first thought is why is she singling you out. I hope an HR professional or legal individual will come on and give you the official answer but it just seems instinctively wrong to me.

I am going to try and give acas a call and see if they can help, I know I feel like I am being singled out for being a single parent, i just wanted to know if someone had been in a similar position as me any information

The fact your hours originally came about through a flexible working request and why you want those hours are both completely irrelevant, as is your boss’s personal opinion about whether or not you still need those hours.

Those are your permanent terms and conditions of employment. Tell your boss your consent is required in order to change your hours and you are not prepared to give consent to the proposed change, therefore you will be continuing your current hours.
