Any tips?? I'm 36, 5 children and a sahm. I've mainly worked in childcare but gave up working after baby number 5, I don't need to work but I'm beginning to realise it would be the sensible thing to do incase I suddenly couldn't rely on being together with OH.
But I have no idea about what I'd like to do, and that would equate to a good enough wage to support me and my children, plus potentially working school hours. My youngest is only a few months old and I could have potentially looked for work when she goes to pre school from age 2, but one of my sons has asd and it falls on my shoulders to collect him early, go to school meetings etc. Etc. And I may have to home school him through secondary age too. So realistically I've got another 4 years to go.
I'm wondering if there is anything I can do in those 4 years that can put me at an advantage to getting a job... Free courses?
I have no hobbies that could be transferred into a job, low self esteem I guess because I'm middle aged and never really progressed or achieved anything. I do have drive and determination, but no direction 😩
I feel good if I've helped others, wouldn't like high conflict roles, pretty good with admin I would imagine, but just have no idea what sort of work would be suitable... Or what I'd be suitable for!
Any tips appreciated

I'd learn Word, Excel, Powerpoint and look at learning to be a virtual assistant. You can freelance as that...and then when you're ready to go back to work, look for roles in administration. If you can't touch type, learn that too.

Thank you, this sounds like it might be something I can gradually start up in my own time around the school runs etc. So thank you for this idea, I will look into keeping up with the new software programs
