Questions to ask at interview

Just that really!

I am 24 years old and seeking a career as opposed to a "job" - I think it is good to ask questions which show this, such as asking where they see the organisation heading in the next 1, 5 and 10 years.

I also think in the current climate it is wise to ask about the security of the job.

What other things do you find to be good things to ask at interview?
Thanks in advance! Smile

Ask the interviewers about their role and why they chose them - sound interested in their answers, nod along and say things like wow that sounds challenging etc. This makes the interviewer feel a bit special and like you understood what they’re saying - it will certainly leave a good impression 👍🏻 Good luck!!

Agree that you should show an interest in the interviewers and ask them questions that will help you figure out what working for that company is like. So you could ask them things like...

What's the most interesting/challenging project that you've worked on during your time here?

Don't forget to ask about progression and what training is available etc.

Always ask what the natural progression for the role would be. It shows you plan to stick around and move up.

I often ask what the interviewers enjoy about working for the organisation. Similar to the PP above.

I also sometimes ask (if not covered) what they see the role doing in the first 3/6/12 months

What would others in this sort of role say are the best and most challenging aspects of this job?

Are you left with any particular concerns or questions about my suitability for this role that I haven't addressed yet?

blebliotheque · 08/12/2020 12:24

Good luck! Let us know how it goes!

Thank you all so much for your input!

I gave it my best shot and there is nothing else I wish I had said, nothing I would have done differently etc.

I am 24 and I said that I am looking for a position where I can thrive and excel and develop my career, and later they said that this is a brand new position which is there ready to be developed. So the job itself ticks all the right boxes for me - I just hope I made a good impression! I will find out at the end of the week 😬🤞🏻 and will keep you all posted!
