NHS recruitment.

I know, how long is a piece of string, but just wondering if NHS recruitment tends to be lengthy? I've applied for a job and waiting for an interview date and time (I've been successful). I work in law enforcement and am used to ridiculously long recruitment times. Does the NHS tend to be the same?

Yes though does depend on the Trust. Even when employed some HR processes can take months.

In my (single) experience it took four months.

NHS recruitment is utterly appalling and can take months.

I've had lots of NHS jobs and they have all taken at least 3 months!

IgorThalia · 23/11/2020 16:23

It took a year for me in law enforcement so 3 months seems like nothing!

Yes. I took four months and I didn't have notice to give. They are usually very slow. One job , the new boss phoned two weeks later to discuss the job , I hadn't even had a confirmation letter.

Must just be me. I think 4 months is pretty quick!

3.5 months for me. I responded to every step (next bit of form filling) within hours. I have no idea what happens at their end that takes so long.

I normally work in an industry where it's normal to start (or continue) the job weeks before you get your contract. Months later in 2020.
