Gross Misconduct

So I’ve been dismissed for gross misconduct at work and I’m over it. I was going to appeal it but tbh I don’t have the mental strength to even go down that line. But I’m not going to say what career path I’m in but let’s use supermarkets as an example: I worked in two ‘large company’ supermarkets, ie Tesco & then moved on to Asda but then I got sacked from ‘Asda’ but I landed a job just before I got sacked in a little family run corner shop & it’s better pay, more hours and more opportunity to go further in my career.
But I worked in Tesco for 1 year then I moved to Asda and worked there for a total of 9 weeks then 3 weeks suspended with pay so 13 weeks in total. It’s left a bad taste in my mouth with larger company owned shops so what will I do with all the paper work from Asda, ie my formal disciplinary hearing notes, the outcome letter....etc etc.

bin them?

what did you actually do? Its pretty hard to get sacked for gross misconduct unless you've done something big normally there's veral and written warnings before instance dismissal

And at 9 weeks they could have just let you go without disciplinary action. Was it potentially criminal?

Box file in the loft. Destroy after 7 years.

I think it depends on the line of work. Do the 'corner shop' know about the gross misconduct and if not would they think your ability to do the job would be affected if they found out?

We're you in retail? But not supermarkets? What did you do? I don't want to sound blameful as big companies can be ruthless. And things can be misconstrued but it really does depend what happened for anyone to offer advice.

Does the new employer know about the misconduct? Definitely keep the paperwork as above.
