Please be sympathetic - just did the worst internal interview EVER!!!

Please come and be nice to me. Just burbled, talked like I was about 5, incompetent, yikes.

I was terrible. Won't have got the job but it was for an internal promotion so now have to go on working alongside the lovely people who interviewed me who must now think I'm an arse.

Literally the worst interview I've ever done. It was so bad I am sure I will be able to laugh about it one day - it would probably make a good comedy sketch of how not to behave in an interview!

If anyone has any words of comfort (or other awful interview stories) they want to share, that would be much appreciated...

I have done a couple of horrific internal interviews. They can be so hard to get right.

The worst interview I did I somehow got the strap of my handbag wrapped round the chair leg and I tripped up over it on leaving, sending myself flying and sending the contents of my handbag (tampax and all) across the room. I got the job. It turned out the manager liked my shoes, not anything I said in the interview she just decided I was ok based on my shoe choice.

Had same experience last week. Started off well to each question but then could hear myself rambling on, disappearing down the rabbit hole, and then having to pull myself out, and the look on the interviewer's face of complete 'what the hell was that all about?!'... Needless to say I haven't heard back. Panic, nerves, getting on in my years, unprepared.. a couple or three of those yes, but I can and have done sooo much better before. I came off the zoom meeting cringing, feeling totally inadequate and wanting lots of carbs! ;-)

I cried in an internal interview. Beat that!

I burped in an interview once and got the job, so you never know lol. I'm historically shite at interviews, I forget what I'm trying to say or what they've even asked me and start waffling! I finally got a job the other day though!
