How to approach leaving recent job?

I started a new job recently and it's not as it was sold to me, not sure I'm going to be able to stay long term which is a shame as it was put forward as a great opportunity (and not something I applied for per day).

I've seen a couple of vacancies and made enquiries, however I'm not sure how to talk about what I'm doing now. I feel like saying I've been somewhere for a short amount of time and am looking to leave is pretty poor but at the same time I can't see my current position remaining tenable.

Is it better to gloss over or explain that I was approached about it and accepted but actually it's not how it was sold and that's why I'm enquiring elsewhere- and being very clear, double checking details?

If you're an employer how would you see this, or if you've been in this position how did you discuss it?

If you get to interview stage, it's pretty easy to explain - you just say clearly that the role has turned out to be more focussed on X, while you were really hoping to work on Y, so you've decided to look for a role that's a better fit.

In terms of the CV, I would include it, then in your cover letter explain it, and why your really really interested in whatever role you're applying for!!

I don't think it will be a dealbreaker - as a hiring manager I would be more concerned to see a pattern of short durations, a once off could happen to anyone

It’s fine.
I was freelance but due to Covid I had to take a job that I very quickly realised wasn’t right. I started applying for other jobs after 3 months and was offered one after 4. I just explained why the job didn’t suit me to the recruiters and it wasn’t an issue, I actually got 3 offers

Thanks for replies!
Hopefully it won't go against me, I can't see the situation improving with this role unfortunately. A part of me is tempted so see how I stand going back to my previous job as I know they are struggling to recruit a replacement.
