Hi. Am in a horrible situation where I cannot get on with my boss.

I love my job and am very good at it but she always seems to put me down and take credit for my ideas. I found out today that she said something completely untrue and has made some comments that will derail how I am viewed to a big detriment.

A) all communication to be in writing - if you have to have meetings follow up with an email about what was said / action points

B) if you can, always copy someone else in, even for the most spurious of reasons

C) join a union

D) is the thing she said public? If so, can you email her (copying someone else in) saying that you'd possibly misunderstood but you'd heard x, however as per your email of y date or your meeting on z date this was not the case

Then at least you're covering your arse.

Document EVERYTHING.

Thanks for advice. I will start documenting.

I have examples already but don’t really feel I can cope with a grievance right now also :-(

You might find documenting everything gives you more strength to call her out - hopefully she'll back down.

🤞 for you.

Thanks for replies. See other post also.... I feel she is picking on me, bad mouthing me and discrediting me. Is this enough grounds for a grievance?

Without knowing all the details it's hard to say.

Grievances re bullying are really hard to prove, mainly because managers / bosses can say a lot under the guise of 'supporting you'.

Are you in a union? Also, and this really is key, what do you want from it? Them to leave you alone? A different manager? What exactly do you want the outcome to be?

I’ve been through this and it’s so draining. Document everything. If you have HR or a higher boss, take it onwards. Good luck.
