How to deal with this supervisor

We are a team of women, he is a man.

He speaks to us as though we are idiots most of the time, if you ask him something and maybe you don’t understand it the first time he’ll do this patronising little laugh and speak to you as though you are a child. We are all intelligent women in technical roles.

He’s misogynistic, hates it if anyone corrects him or appears to know more than him. Theres an element of low level bullying going on all the time, He constantly pushes you to go faster and faster and answer enquiries, if your numbers drop he asks ‘are you ok?’ Like faux concern.

If anyone raises a genuine issue he’ll tell us to stop whinging, apparently we are all a bunch of fucking kids if we complain about anything. He will speak to us like we are annoying little women.

The worst thing tho is he’s making his own output figures better by pretending to answer enquiries but just closing them down in the system - no reply but it still counts as an answer.

He big friends with the manager above him so I feel we are stuck. He has form for this after a new recruit resigned after a few weeks and complained about his bullying behaviour and condescending, impatient manner whilst she was training.

How on earth do we deal with this? The rest of the women on the team just accept it and are resigned to how he is but we shouldn’t have to. No doubt if I was on my own reporting him he’d be protected by his manager. I don’t want to have to leave this job, I just wish karma would come and he would get found out. 🤯

I can't think of anything to say except piss in his boots. He'll get the message that someone does not like him

I would except we are WFH. And that seems to have made his lazy behaviour even worse. He takes every advantage to disappear off whenever he can. He’s either ‘away’ or ‘busy’ on the system. Makes sure he’s never ‘available’

Go around boss to HR? If there are enough complaints with evidence then they'll be forced to take it seriously. The enquiries one would be easy to prove.

If you're sure everyone feels the same way could you put in a 'note of concern' to big boss/HR & sign it from the team if everyone agreed. Puts them firmly in the picture & makes it their problem. Sucky position to be in though. Hope karma is on the way to the entitled fucker
