if so, can you tell me a bit more about what you do and if you do part or full time?

My mum does, has for years now.

My mum normally does 4 shifts a week and these can be earlies, lates, nights or long days. She works on a maternity ward and stays on that ward. There are 2 wards and they each have their own HCA's, but they are required to cover if a ward is short staffed.
They also have HCA's on labour wards.

Basically, my mum is responsible for getting the women up and out of bed after delivery, keeping them comfortable, responding to questions and alerting the midwives if they need to. They also occasionally feed babies, or have them out in the office so a mum can get some sleep.

She also takes the babies and/or mums to deifferent departments in the hospital if they need to be seen elsewhere ie scbu for ab's.

Oh they make beds and do baby bath demos aswell.

When my mum started it was mainly just all of the above but now they are required to do more of the clerical work too. Some HCA's are allowed to take blood and do obs, but that varies from ward to ward.

Anything else you want to know ??

I recently applied for this exact job, but wasn't succesful unfortunatly.
