3 months notice

I have been offered a job, my current employer is asking for 3 months notice.
I am not senior and I'm a minimum wage employee.
Can I give them the start date of my new employment and request I leave before then?
I think 3 months is unreasonable and my current employer have caused me untold stress, I need to get out.
Is there a way around this? Pls help.

I have RTFT; I posted a couple of days ago as well.

It doesn’t matter how much is going on, your childcare problems are your own responsibility and not your employers, and so are irrelevant to the “unfair employer” narrative.

@Fuckmyliferightnow

I'm not sure why there are people posting quite hostile replies. I came on here to ask advice/questions. My mental health has suffered because of this company and you just come on here to make unhelpful comments! There is more going on here than just my childcare issues, rtft or fuck off!
I have just read the whole thread and do not see a single hostile response even if some answers are not what you hoped to read. Every response I have read looks accurate according to employment and contract law.

There are two avenues available to you. The first is to try to reach agreement to leave sooner. The second is to just go, it is unlikely that an employer will take any action against you, but could be burning bridges as you never know when a this will cross again.

What hostile replies?

You asked a question and people answered it. Just because it wasn't the answer you wanted does not mean that people are being hostile.

If your contract says three months then you need to find a way to negotiate your way out of it. We're not saying it's okay to give a week's notice because it's not okay and you could potentially be in more shit!
