Redundancy - notice & entitlement

Hi everyone,

The company that I work for is sadly having to shut its doors due to the effects of corona, meaning that everyone is being made redundant.

Ive been there over 7 years and just wanted to double check that I've worked out what I'm owed correctly. Am I right in thinking its:

7 weeks redundancy pay (not taxed as under 30k)
7 weeks notice pay (taxed as usual)
Plus any remaining holiday days

Also when is my last day of employment classed as? Is it 7 weeks from my redundancy being confirmed? Or do I just get standard 4 weeks notice for that? Or is it the day I'm made redundant? Its important as i'll need to know for maternity pay.

Redundancy pay depends on your age as well as your length of service. If you have been between 22 and 41 for your 7 years, it will be a week's pay per year. Time spent before 22 is half a week's pay, time after 41 is a week and a half's pay. A week's pay is capped at £538.

Your last day of service depends whether your employer is having you serve out your notice period or paying you in lieu of notice. They should tell you this (and the rest of your question actually!).

Holiday pay it depends. You accrue holiday up to your last day of employment but they may make you take it during your notice rather than paying it out.

Your employer should confirm the redundancy payment and last day of work in writing

Also they should provide you with a contact for future references
