Redundancy payment

Lovebug2020 · 28/08/2020 19:56

I got paid furlough today.

Received redundancy notice at 5pm. Last day of work is today.

I have not received any redundancy money. Monday is bank holiday and I’m sat here wondering when it’s going to turn up.

Nothing has been said about it being paid at a later date. What is the norm here???

I just want to get my money and run 😮

Gosh, I'm surprised you came to Mumsnet before your barrister - who you have on speed dial over the weekend. Let's hope he's a cheap barrister, as you have bills to pay and need your redundancy payment so urgently. I don't think I'd be spending it on a barrister before I had even contacted my employer for clarity.

Say what??

Interested in what sort of claim you have based on this post?

Gosh quick to find a direct access barrister!

There is no actual claim - he told you that yes?

@Lovebug2020

Thanks everyone for your feedback. I have sought advice on all the issues and I do have grounds for a claim which I have double checked with my barrister.

@MadameBlobby - I have not been paid properly for months by my employer and I like else on here has bills to pay. It’s not drama so don’t be so rude when your not aware of all the facts .

How have you not been paid properly for months? Do you mean you just received furlough pay or have you been underpaid? If the former, you presumably agreed to that. If the latter, I’m sure your barrister will inform you of any time limits applicable to any claim you may have.

I appreciate you have bills to pay but it’s much more reasonable to wait a few days and ask when it will be paid than banging on about a claim, when the likelihood is it will be paid long before you even raise one, far less have a hearing set for it.

The barrister will probably cost more than any pay you are due.

If you have worked there for less than 2 years you will be entitled to be paid your notice and any holiday pay you have accrued. They can ask you to work your notice if they wish.

I would expect you to be paid on the first payday after your notice period has ended.

BooFuckingHoo2 · 31/08/2020 19:54

I appreciate this is stressful for you OP, but from what you’ve written I’m failing to see how you have a claim?

If I were you I’d contact the company and confirm you were going to be paid PILON and accrued holiday pay in septembers payroll
