So I’ve seen a job I’d really like to go for as usuall nothing is a easy decision when children involved.
My kids are 5,3 and 18m
I’m currently still furloughed since March.
I’m sick of being at home.
I also think the children have had enough of seeing mummy !
There is a place I’ve wanted to work for many years that’s become available.
I’m not sure about working full time tho
As since having children I’ve only done part time .
My question is I currently get child benefit plus child tax credit.
My monthly income would be around 1600/1800 pcm doing 5 x 7.5 hours( 9.30/5)
18m would need 4x nursery days.
Is it going to be beneficial at all working full time if I don’t get the above government help.
Thanks all

Your child benefit wouldn't be affected.

You wouldn't be adding much to the family income, I presume (you'd need wraparound care for the 5 yr old, and wouldn't the 3 yr old need Nursery too ?) but you have to take that in the context of what you'll gain.
Up to date work skills and experience (maybe contacts / networking, maybe up to date registrations, maybe keeping up to date with legislation in your field or new technology or whatever applies to your job) - are all invaluable in terms of your career. Presumably you have 30 + years of working life ahead of you? Then investing now is about more than just money.
They key is the fact you are sick of being at home.
For that reason alone, you need to go out to work.
The fact this is a position at a place you've wanted to work at is the icing on the cake.

Yes it’s more than. Just the money. My 3yr old now gets the free childcare 24 hrs of stretched funding. Plus he goes to a family member 2 days a week. My husband would collect our daughter from school so she wouldn’t need any after school care but she may need to go the breakfast club.
I am still to write it all down to weigh all pros and cons . My interview is today so will see how it goes . Thanks

If I were you I would go for it.
If you and you're husband earn above a certain threshold you should get child benefit. I work full time and earn less than what you would but since my partner (not married) earns above the threshold I don't get the child benefit. Sucks but it is what it is.
Working full time is also really really beneficial in terms of your pension contribution so that's something to think about. If you're really not enjoying/managing full time you could discuss going part time after you've been there a little while for most companies.

I have been offered the job and he said if I wanted to do 4 days I can.
I will gain 60 pound more a month than what I currently do - I did 2 x 10 hour days and it was a killer really.

So I will be doing 4x 9.30 -5 pm and Thursday off. Really happy with this and I am going to take the job . I think also wil be good mentally as I was on mat leav from march19 then returned to work in January 2020 then I’ve been furloughed since the beginning of March I feel I’ve spent to long as home . I love spending time with the kids but I think you need your space and so do they .

Congratulations! And great that they have offered you 4 days, sounds like the best of both worlds.
