NHS question (moving from Band 3 to Band 4)

I'm currently working for the NHS in a Band 3 position, and have just been invited for a Band 4 position interview.
My currently role (Band 3) is to to finish within next couple of months and I'd be facing redeployment as the service I work for is closing down (funding issues).
I've not told my manager or anybody at work about my interview next week.
Just wondering (assuming I'm lucky enough to get this next job, fingers crossed!), how quick is the process till I would actually be able to start the new role? I remember when I first joined the NHS a couple of years ago, it was about 3 months from interview day till first day in the job (because of all the background checks etc). Would they still be needing to do all the background checks etc if I'm ALREADY in the NHS and working for the same Trust? How quick is the process for moving from Band 3 to Band 4? Would it be a case of weeks, or more likely months? Just trying to prepare for what to expect as want to have new job ready to go straight in to when current one comes to an end (or even before). Thanks if you can advise me on this! :) xx

No you will not need to have further background checks as all of your details will be on ESR, if you Trust uses it. They will only need to request references from your current manager and possibly a new DBS check, depending on the level of your new job. It depends on when they need their new applicant to start x
