AIBU - meeting arrangements etiquette

I keep getting clients sending me meeting requests without first asking me if the time works. Is this the normal thing now? I've always thought you need to agree a time, THEN you send round the meeting request. It's particularly annoying when they're coming from clients who feel the y have the right to your time but don't consider you might have other meetings/ other commitments?

I know I am not being unreasonable. And obviously, I just go back and say no and suggest alternatives. But it winds me up irrationally every time. It's so bloody entitled and rude. And it's the second time this week it's happened!

We would just send a meeting request then everyone gets the option to accept or decline. The meeting request is the asking if the time works.

Where I work this is bad etiquette. Unless it's internal and you can clearly see they are free from an open calendar.
