NHS conditional offer

I interviewed for a position last Wednesday and was informed the same day that I had been successful. I confirmed that I would be accepting the position over the phone when they offered me the job and I've heard nothing since from HR. I assume things are running behind because of the current situation, should I email and ask? Does anyone have experience of how long the recruitment process takes after a successful interview?

Are you internal or external?

If internal - the process is slow!
If you are external..... the process is slowwww

Sorry with the current crisis some areas are working quicker than others.

Is it a hospital?

Duchess external I'm afraid! I just thought I'd have at least received my pre-checks offer through as they do them via email at my trust (my sister is a radiographer at the same hospital.)

Really hoping it's not too long but this isn't giving me much hope! I assume a lot of people are working from home so things are not running as smoothly.

It can be hugely slow! For no reason other than recruitment teams in the NHS tend not to work with urgency in so many ways. Just give them a call and ask where it's up to.

Sorry! I can only go on personal experience.

There really is no harm in chasing! Or asking for an eta.

I think when I joined a trust back in 2015 it was a good 4 - 6 weeks between offer and contract/start date!

I interviewed in jan 2014, everything was finalised March 2014 and I started the job the beginning of April 2014. It is a long process. Referencing can take a while. Especially so now in this current situation. DBS also can take a few weeks.
You will probably also have to have a trust induction which at the moment are running very sporadically.

I applied for job end of February.
Interviewed mid March.
Heard nothing until April.
Didn’t start until start of July!
Worth the wait and so happy I waited it out. Hang in there OP.

Thanks everyone, think I was just looking for reassurance that the job offer is definitely still there and I've not missed some vital thing I was supposed to do! By the sounds of it it's very normal for it to be slow, even without the current climate. I'll give it until the start of next week and then start chasing I think.

Sorry Duchess realised I wrote that as you not giving me much hope when I meant my trust is not giving me much hope. You've been very helpful, thank you.
