Furloughed, just received my pay. Can anyone tell me if this is correct?

I was placed on furlough and just received my pay and payslip for the month of April. My gross monthly income is £1776.67. I was paid £1,150.72 with a gross salary adjustment of £485.62. This is not 80%. Before I question this with HR, does this seem correct to you? I worked out on the government website that with the government grant I should receive about £1269 for April. Thanks in advance Smile

What was the actual date you were furloughed? if it was say 27th March then the last days of March which you would have been paid for in your March paycheque will need to be adjusted in your April pay.

Could this be a possibility? If not then ask your payroll dept to explain.

Well my number was only a few quid out. Looks very much like they have deducted the extra paid to you in march. You got full pay whereas however many days were meant to be at 80pc have now been taken from april. Maths roughly works on that basis.

I'm bored, so here's my basic maths version. Furloughed 21st march, so 10 days of the month should have been reduced by 20pc. (1776/31 x10) x20pc is 115. So 15 pounds out from the 130 you were reduced. I'd say that's accurate enough for you not to worry and assume they've got it right

@nowahousewife and @Morechocmorechoc that sound right. I can't believe I haven't thought of that. Makes sense, doesn't it Grin I will leave it. Thanks all xx
