Would a Bureau de Change employ a bankrupt person?

My partner went bankrupt last year. He's just been offered a job after a successful interview with a small bureau de change. They've asked for a credit check and he's disclosed his bankruptcy. We're now expecting the offer to be withdrawn.

Does anybody know if this will be the case?

The fact he disclosed his financial circumstances shows integrity, which will be valued by a prospective employer.

Times are tough, any financial institution will know that trading conditions are as bad as they get, so it would be a harsh judge who would deny someone a job on that basis, if the candidate has good credentials and work history..

But that's only my opinion, I could be proven wrong if they do the checks purely on a points system and downgrade him because of his credit rating.

Has his bankruptcy been discharged without conditions?
DH was bankrupt in 2015 and just about to join a bank, but he is 3.5 years post discharge and has started to rebuild his credit file.
I think pre discharge they are unlikely to accept.
