Paraplanning/IFA qualifications

I currently work in an entry level role in financial services and am looking into becoming a paraplanner. I'm going to work towards a qualification while I'm in my current role as hopefully this will give me an advantage if I decide to pursue paraplanning and apply for jobs.

I've found a couple of routes I could take: CII Level 4 Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning and CISI Level 4 Investment Advice Diploma. Does anyone know which qualification is best regarded (or would you recommend something else)? I've had a look at some job descriptions and they've mentioned 'level 4' but nothing specific.

I've worked for 3 financial planning companies and they've all had CII qualifications. I'm studying with cii at the moment and have no complaints, but am not doing the paraplanner course. And cii qualifies you for a totum student discount card.

MrsPussinBoots Thanks. Sounds like CII is the way to go, then! I did a bit more Googling and found some job advertisements that specified CII but none that specified CISI, so CII seems like the safest option. Just a shame that I'm already a CISI member!

Ah that's a shame! Good luck!
