Do you think this AM role at a digital agency could be done on a PT basis?

We're having a discussion at my company, which is a digital agency about whether a new account manager role that we've created could be done by someone on a PT basis. It's historically been done by someone who's FT but we think that the right person could probably do it 3-4 days a week. Would welcome any thoughts/ideas from people who've hired for similar roles, or who indeed are applying for these types of roles. Here's the job spec to give you a sense of what it entails - drive.google.com/file/d/1cjlVdHZEazzTrOQDcSXWLj4o1k6mpxFb/view

4 days yes, 3 days probably no. Unless it was 2 full days plus 2 half days, perhaps. Basically I think the person would need to be available 4 days out of 5, simply because it's client facing and clients will want to be able to get hold of their account manager most of the time. I've worked in a digital agency and it's fast paced with tight deadlines, at which point you need the account manager to be available.

Another option could be a job share as long as the two people worked well together and client was happy knowing they could always reach one of them.

The job share is an interesting idea that I hadn't considered.

What size team would they be part of? If you have ADs and AEs who know the clients and projects it shouldn't be a problem.

It is really difficult for mums, in particular, to come back into work because all the jobs are full time with long hours and travel often involved.

I think being flexible and offering remote working opportunities etc would be a good idea.

Not sure how clients would feel about a job share but it might work.

What an interesting company you are!
The job sounds dreamy and I'm sure your'll get lots of suitable applicants.
I don't think you need to change anything.

We're flexible when it comes to home working. Quite a few of our clients are overseas so most of the time it's a case of being able to do online meetings with the occasional need to do face-to-face. We're a team of about 20 in the Midlands and it's mainly made up of a technical team of front-end and back-end developers.

I should add that if anyone knows of someone who might be interested in the tole, I'd love to have a chat with them.

Or could it be reduced hours - I work in a comms agency and we have someone who works three days spread over five. She finishes at 3. Took a bit of getting used to, but it works well, and no problems with clients.

I would be open to someone working reduced hours over 5 days. We try to be as flexible as possible and generally speaking, as long as someone is around for most of the core working hours, we're fairly relaxed.
