and that's all i can do am not bothered about how late i have to work but can only start after 4pm but would be happy to work until midnight or 1am

have applied to my nearest asda but she snootily informed me that everyone has to work the weekend (which i can't do) - it's the same most places i believe

does anyone have any ideas - i can;t drive and all these places that are open 24 hours are too far for me to go just for a form (but obv need to get one)

is there any like online websites that search for vancancies for these hours

sainsburys and asda you have to go and pick up an application form and my sainsburys currently have none!!

barwork?
waitressing?
care worker?
call centre?
cleaner (offices, shops etc tend to be cleaned during the evening)?

any of these possible where you are?

mustsleep · 30/08/2007 13:06

have looked at a fair few call centres but they want me to work on a sat or sunday aswell

am currently cleaning at a school but it's every day three thirty till six and i feel like i never get to see ds who is now at school, but i can't work during the day as i still have dd at home with me during the day, so i donlt mind working more hours and late into the night but i couldn't do it every night because i wonlt be able to sleep during the day

am awkward i know

Are there any big offices near you? Cleaning would be a good option as it would be after work.
Howabout waitressing?

WaynettaSlob · 30/08/2007 13:09

Bingo hall? cinema?

southeastastra · 30/08/2007 13:09

casino would be cool! or hospital?

mustsleep · 30/08/2007 13:11

or somehting that pays enough for me to work during the day and put dd into a nursery (not likely)

just wondering if any knew any websites that specialised in evening jobs etc ( alot say part time) but then they don't specify the hours

I think that's a good idea - blitz the place in one fell swoop. (and sorry if this sounds insulting () but make sure that you're looking smart when you go to collect them)

serenity · 30/08/2007 13:42

If you can't drive, how are you planning on getting home from the late nights if you don't mind me asking? I work until 12.30am (at IKEA, not much good for you I'd imagine) three nights a week, and it's been hell the odd times I haven't had a car.

I'd apply for jobs whether they specify weekends or not tbh. If they want you they'll be prepared to negotiate on hours, and most places prefer the 'older' employee because they tend to put more effort in and be more reliable (not slating students/teenagers in any way, purely based on my personal experience etc etc before I get jumped on )

I wish we could edit posts!!!

To add to the last one ....... apply for every job because a, it gives you good practise at filling applications in (and I've seen some god awful ones, used to recruit for Woolies and lots of people obviously thought that just because they were applying for a Saturday job or whatever, there wasn't any point to the applications. I'd never interview someone who couldn't even try and impress right at the beginning) always make an effort to put detail in, even if it is a p/time ASDA job - it'll get noticed b, if you don't apply, then you've definitely got no chance of getting it

HTH, and apologies if I'm saying things you already know
