Quit work and get a job with less hours or working from home?

I have thought about this a few times but never done it as it doesn't seem quite possible. The problem is I am a bit fed up at work, there has been a lot if changes and it's not great. I would usually just put up with this as it's a job. But I have 2 young children and it's difficult to keep on top of the house, kids stuff, shopping, ironing etc. And after paying for childcare I dont come out with loads of money, but an ok amount atm.
In a few months I will need to put my youngest into nursey for an extra day a week and eldest into a couple of extra after school clubs a week so.will be paying more in childcare.
Eldest is in reception and youngest just gone 2. My husband does do his fair share and helps to take eldest to school a few days a week.
What do other people do to make some money from home or any flexible job ideas.
I have roughly worked it out and when paying more in childcare I would come out with £500 to £600 per month after childcare. So if I could make that with less stress and been there for.the school run.etc it would be better.
Is that an ok amount to expect working 4 days a week as a supervisor with a fair bit of stress or is it not worth it? I feel it's not going to be worth it but we do need that money to go towards bills as my husband doesn't earn enough to.pay everything and I do want to still earn.

Childcare is a finite expense that will greatly reduce in a very short time. You are being very short sighted by only looking at the financial situation right now and seeing it in terms of only earning £500. You earn lots more than that but have a temporary expense of childcare.

Yes I do agree, and that is why I haven't done anything yet. I would ideally like to be able to start working for myself eventually but hard to start something when I dont have any spare time.
I go from thinking I should just stick it out to wanting to try do something different to improve the quality of life we have. Would be nice to be able to earn money from home by the time they are both at school so I am able to do school runs and am about in school holidays. So just wondering what other people do. I wouldn't rush into anything.
