Declaring a disability in application forms

What has your ecperience been if you have a disability or if you're an employer? I've noticed that I don't get invited to job interviews when I declare my disability in the job application forms even though the organisations have the two ticks and claim to gurantee interviews for those meeting the minimum requirements. I've not even had a reply from those i've asked for feedback. I have eight years experience in the positions I've applied for, no gaps in my cv etc. I've been invited to interviews where I've not declared my disability, but the issue I have there is that there is no way of knowing if will be accessible for me.

What can I do?

How does declaring it on the form give you any info as to whether it is accessible or not?
All the forms I've filled in to access guaranteed interview just asked you to declare if I considered myself to have a disability. I didn't have to give details. I could have asked for adjustments at any stage in the process regardless of whether I had applied under the scheme or not, as you aren't obliged to tick yes.

If you get an interview, then ask for the adjustments you need.

TBH an employer's attitude to being asked for adjustments can be a really good indicator as to whether they will be a supportive employer - if they aren't at interview stage they certainly won't be further down the line. Do you really want to work for an employer that might be weeding out disabled candidates from the off?

The companies I've applied to with the two ticks had a section re: accesibility at the intetview.

You've made a good point regarding weeding out disabled candiates...wouldn't want to work for such a company

No way to tell if disability is the reason you're not getting interviews. I always disclose my disability as I'd rather know than not know if its an issue. If they have an issue, then I don't want to work for them. Yet at the same time, I feel sometimes I only get the interview cause I ticked that box. Its a bit of a catch 22 or whatever you call it.

It all comes down to the employer, it is shit when people disregard you due to a disability at the recruitment stage but as @Isleepinahedgefund said you wouldn't want to work for them.

The problem is it's really easy to sign up and claim to be a disability confident employer, I run a small company and signed up myself, we work in the disability industry and 2 out of 5 staff have a disability - it's hard, with the best will in the world reasonable adjustments can be tricky and that's for us who I believe are clued up and willing to go the extra mile. so for an employer who wants to do good but is genuinely clueless it can be scary, with accreditations that require no checks as someone seeking employment there's just no logic or support.
I do think you should challenge their policies though if they guarantee an interview and don't
