I work in recruitment as a Talent Acquisition Specialist and recruit around 25 people per month for various roles within our business.
Today I had an interview for a new job and was talking to my sister about interview feedback as she’s a HR Director - and how long people generally wait for feedback. I have it in my head I’ve been unsuccessful as I haven’t heard back yet as that’s my normal expectation.
When I interview for our company, I tend to give feedback straight away because I don’t a) want the candidate accepting another role because we waited too long and b) calm candidate nerves and deliver the news ASAP. My sister said that today she offered a person a role and it had been two weeks from their interview date and this is a regular occurrence, they just take their time to make decisions.
So, and I know interview feedback and offers is dependent on several factors, but how long would you deem a good amount of time before giving an offer/decline/feedback? Does it make you look desperate immediately giving feedback?
