Think I'm being discriminated against

I have recently started job searching, had one interview but the actual job I was offered was different to what I'd applied for and very very unsocial hours. I declined it but they will keep me in mind if anything else suitable comes up.
I've now applied for three positions for the same not for profit organisation. They are a big employer.
I haven't applied for jobs for many years and am late 50's but have read the criteria for each and I meet the requirements fully.
However I've been emailed about all three to say I've not been successful in being invited for interview. I did email back to ask for feedback as it would be helpful to know the reasons but haven't heard anything
Now I know I met the criteria for interview and evidenced all the requirements and am now left wondering if this could be age discrimination. Clearly the organisation would deny this but is this something that Acas deal with or is discrimination only for during employment?
I'd really value some advise

I would recommend that you do some voluntary. Especially if you are looking for jobs in the third sector.

I work for a charity. We get 40 to 100 applicants and 80% will meet the criteria for interview and will will normally interview 4 or 5.

What you need is something to make you stand out from the 80% and get you into the shortlist.

In the third sector voluntary experience will be highly desirable and often expected. And it will help you overcome the disadvantage that you have with your time away from the work place.

Thanks Regina I've got years of voluntary experience even while self employed and it's interesting stuff too! It's on my CV. What you say is making sense though and I'll look into volunteering again

What would you recommend I write about my gap in employment for the past few years?
The absolute truth is I chose to take time off to support my daughter through a really horrible time and help with my GS. It was the right decision and one I won't apologise for and life is certainly easier now. Surely I can write family commitments?
I guess they may think I've been in prison or something!

If you're on linkedin, sign up for a free trial of their learning section. There is a woman call job jenny who does a CV masterclass and she has lots of advice on what to put if you've had a career break and different things like that.
