Taking someone to a meeting for support

I have been invited to a meeting by my manager, to discuss changes to my working days and my team leader will also be in attendance. I would like to take someone with me, but I am unsure of my rights. I am union member, can I ask someone to attend with me?

I feel my manager and team leader will try to intimidate me and I'm worried about attending alone. It will also help me to have someone to talk it over with after.

Thanks

You’re not entitled to bring someone with you, that’s only at formal hearings like disciplinary, grievance or something like redundancy where the outcome could be your employment terminating.

However if you would find it beneficial you can always ask the question - your manager may allow it.

@flowery Thank you for your reply. I can't see my manager allowing it, but I've nothing to lose by asking her.
