2 Weeks in Advance / 2 Weeks in Arrears

Hoping somebody can give me some guidance.

I'm about to start a new job on the 29th of this month. My contract states that its 2 weeks in advance, 2 weeks in arrears.

I'll be salaried with a pay date of the 15th. Some people I've spoken too have suggested that I will get paid a full months pay on the 15th of next month.

Anyone had a similar experience? TIA

Yes that would be correct, assuming your details are input by cut off date (usually a week or so before payday).

Yes in at least 2 companies I got paid like this.
Monthly pay on the 15th for the whole Callander month.
Moved all my direct debits to the same date and it works very well.

Thanks both. Naturally I'll double check once training has commenced but dont want it to be on of the first things that comes out of my mouth.

Just dont want to move a pile of DD over and then get caught short! Have been paid 4 weekly and most recently weekly so monthly is going to be an absolute godsend!

Thanks all.

Yes, your pay on 15th Nov should be a full month for the whole of November, plus arrears for the couple of days at the end of October.

Yes. at our work that would.mean you get a fill month pay on 15th.

Really need payroll advice. I’m leaving my current job and they pay 2 weeks in a arrears and 2 weeks in advance. Pay day is the 15th, I know if I leave on the last working day of the month for example the 31st October I’ll get my final full salary on the 15th September.

I want to leave the 11th October, would I get any pay from them? I’m owed 9 days leave but can’t use it as I need to cover the pay gap until i get my first salary in the new job…

I can’t ask payroll because they are not confidential and they’ll tell team mates before my manager does. My manager doesn’t want me to go to them because of this, but I can’t give a notice date until I know what the final salary would be!

My manager also
wants me to hand in my resignation even though I haven’t received my new contract yet so they can start recruiting. I told them early out of courtesy but now it seems to have backfired. Any advice would be welcomed. Thank you

Hi, did you manage to find out the answer to this, I’m the same I stated my job on the 27th June 2022, on the 15th July I received full pay. I left this position on the 20th September 2023 taking the rest of the month as holiday. I believe I should be owed 2 weeks pay on the 15th October but have been told I don’t. Can anyone help?

thanks

If you are paid in advance mid monthly your September pay will have covered your holiday already.
