Education based jobs - time off ?

Seen an ad to work in Adult Education which is stated as 34 weeks per year . Presumably this is based around their term times (30 ish weeks with half term breaks) but it isn't clear that this is a term time job. Is taking time off during termtime an issue(not likely to be a regular thing at all btw) or do you get some leave allowance during those 34 weeks ? For example Easter next year falls mid term for them, the break being 2 weeks, later but our kids' school breaks up in time for Easter and we have a holiday booked.

If you applied for the job and got it they would acknowledge your holidays anyway.
It sounds like term time though and sadly different hols to the kids is just one of them things. Luckily i on mat leave next year as i have same prob with easter hol and my ds.
It depends on establishment about you taking extra hols but i can't imagine they would be too happy or even let you take more than a few extra days out of term time.

Thanks . As I said it would n't be my intention to make a regular thing of it, we can cover the odd week's childcare if needs be and Adult Ed terms seem shorter than LEA ones usually. They mention some flexibility is required so hopefully it isn't one way ! It just suddenly occurred to me that Easter next year is a particular problem.

I work in a school and we can take odd days for appointments but holidays have to be put in writing to governers and are very rarely granted.If its a pre arranged thing they may be leniant at first if you are upfront aboyt it and will rpobably unpaid.

Is yours a termtime contract Nymphadora ? Being unpaid or making up the 4 days not necessarily a problem.

No , work term time only but paid 52 weeks
