Hello - I'm looking for a bit of honest advice. I manage a small team for over 10 years. I feel as though I've really made a bit of a mess about it. Two of us started at same time and my colleague was thrown in at the deep end, rarely present early when when needed and i kind of gave up trying to manage them - i feel really bad as things got worse and there has been a lot of chat behind my back which is now manifesting as open "whispering" in front of me so I can hear whats being said. Others started in the team and my confidence in training them hit rock bottom - I found them difficult to train they seemed to already know it all so i let them get on with it. Communication is now poor, the stress is unbearable, and Im really not comfortable having to rely on them. Ive bailed a lot of people out in the organisation but still the damage has been done and I don't know what to do next.

Go to your line manager.
Explain what issues you are having and ask for advice.

Thanks / I have done that - they are aware somethings not right but no real guidance so far tbh I’m at my wits end
