Expressing Milk at work

Hi all,
Looking for some practical advice and experiences.
Currently on mat leave. Baby just turned 10 months. He is still BF.
I am going back to work for 1 day pw starting this Friday for a course.
This will continue until I restart properly in December 4 days pw when my baby will be 1y.

My question is this- does anyone have any experience with expressing milk at work? What practical things should I think about? (the commute will be about an hour). How did you find it?
Should I just wean him onto formula? He is reluctant to take the bottle especially if I am around and haven't really ever left him for extended periods of time. He will be staying with my DM. Will it matter if I don't feed him bm for a day?

Thanks for any advice you can give.

You should have an established supply by now although I would encourage DM to be having baby for short periods on her own to help with the transition. Speak to your employer as they need to provide an appropriate place for you to express and store milk (most places have a fridge). I would get one of those little cool bags for the journey home. Try to get used to pumping if you haven't already so that you're confident before trying somewhere new. Will baby take water or milk from a beaker if they don't like bottles? Dd suddenly decided she wouldn't take any but fortunately would take a beaker and could do this semi independently. I would also make sure that weaning is going well as it really varies. DD was getting through 3 meals plus 2 snacks at that age but some of her friends were still very much milk babies.
