Can you not phone them and let them know that your childminder hasn't arrived? Don't tell them it's your mother, they'll have more sympathy if they think it's a professional crisis. Just call them - NOW. Hope she arrives soon!

is there a neighbour or anyone at all you can leave them with for a few minutes til your mum arrives?
Don't phone and say you have a childcare crisis if you can help it, childminder or mother, it doesn't bode well for reliability if someone phones and is late for the interview because of childcare problems, and it may put them off, rightly or wrongly.
Only do that if you have no other option.

get a neighbour to pop in...and good luck !

I'd rather do that than be late though. These things happen and I'm sure they would appreciate that you've let them know as soon as possible. But yes, if you can call on anyone else in an emergency I would do so now.

Or perhaps her mum has just turned up and she's on her way? If so, GOOD LUCK!

I'd ring them and explain that your childcare plans have gone wrong and ask if they could schedule you in for later (I've done this for applicants for dd's nursery before)
