Incorrect figures on p60, does it matter?

I have had a letter from hmrc, that I'd underpaid tax in the 18/19 tax year. When I had my p60 it stated I had paid the correct amount of tax, but this figure is out by £250 according to HMRC details.

I have gone through my payslips, and found that my p60 also states I earned more than I did in. I changed jobs mid last year, and in this job I work part time but varying hours. Plus it's weekly pay, so my weekly tax deductions would have been small and also varied, which is why I didn't notice.

Anyway, from the payslips, it seems that when I started here, my current employer put that I'd earned more in my previous job, than what my p45 said (p45 is correct), which is why p60 is wrong but I'm not sure how they managed to get the tax figure wrong. The amount it says I paid in this employment is completely different to the amount that was actually deducted.

HMRC obviously have the correct figures, but I'm not sure if I need to request a revised P60 for last year. Is it something that can affect anything?

You may need your P60 if you apply for a mortgage or financial services, or rent a property. It is unlikely to affect anything else as HMRC have the correct figures. You probably don't need a corrected version but personally I would get one anyway. If nothing else, it might make your employer tighten up their procedures so they don't make this kind of mistake again.
