Feeling resentment

I don't want to drip feed but at the same time don't want to give away detail that could out me.
I work in the construction industry, Male dominated. I have returned after a few years away from current work place (I was seconded to somewhere else and did well, got lots of experience).

Most, if not all of the time when people return, they return to promotions. I haven't. I don't know the reason why, it's an ongoing conversation. My reviews and references are excellent. I have more experience than my current boss who seems nice enough.

Bosses boss is the guy who is stubborn as hell and seems to want me to work for the team (hence they have pulled me back), but does not want to give me a promotion to go with my achievements. I feel resentful and pissed off.

I am looking for a new job but while I do this, how do I stop myself feeling resentful and burning my bridges.

Thanks!!

Has everyone else who came back to a promotion been male? I would just casually mention that in conversation with the boss. Don't give any indication of what you choose to do about the situation , but make it known you have noticed their blatant sexism and leave it in their court to deal with it.

I'd also keep looking elsewhere discreetly.

Yes, I have mentioned this. In fact some conversations with bosses boss I have been really blunt. This probably hasn't helped my case.

I have pointed out lack of diversity.

Do people often leave this company? If not, Perhaps they are lulled into a false sense of security and think you will be satisfied with what you’ve got and stay?

They must be either daft or chauvinistic. Good luck on your new post. Time to move on to a company who appreciates your skill.

People don't usually leave. Those I know who have left have been mostly women. They are delusional if they do not see a trend.
Or maybe I am seeing a selective trend as I knew them.

Can you ask them if you are still in touch? Be interesting to know if all say five women all left because they aren’t treated as well as their male counterparts. In this day and age too. Sigh.

I am in touch with many of them. Yes, some left as the management wouldn't even bother to remember their names. They kept on confusing the names. (Small example)

One or two left due to lack of career progression and long long hrs.

List goes on.
