Hello

I've had a month of . Now started a new job which involves half an hour travel each way. Working 8am till 5pm. Two young children , i sleep badly.
Previously I worked 5 minutes from home 9am till 5pm .
First week and I am feeling shattered more mentally.
Does anyone have any tips ?

Let's look at why you sleep badly. Is that something you've always had?

What is your evening routine like?

Get fresh air and daylight at lunchtime? Even a walk round the block.

30mins commute is not exactly a lot though, could it be a red herring to something else causing the tiredness?

And also you are learning intensely as well as still being on best behaviour at a new job. That's tiring in itself.

Same. Just taken up new job, for another 2 days per week on top of my old job.
Training in intense, pressure. I get brain freeze by about 3.30pm.
Struggling quite badly actually.
What are you supposed to do other than give it time?

@HennyPennyHorror it's been like this since my daughter was a newborn (6 years ) I think parents are always half awake
I sleep for a few hours the around 3 I wake toss and turn till ten minutes before alarm

I tend to get things done in the evening , exercise and go to sleep around 11am up at 6am .

@BuzzShitbagBobbly I know it's not a massive commute I was spoilt previously by leaving my house at 8
50am for a 9 start.
I worked in central London for a long time so know a horrific commute but when I got home there was only me to look after so not to bad ha.

My tip is Berocca Boost.... good for a pick me up if you feel tired mid way through.

My biggest tip (although I'm awful at following it myself), is to stay off your phone/ laptop in the evening. I know it's tempting to wind down scrolling through various sites but it has a massive impact on your sleep. Try not to use it after 8pm if possible.
