Interview help

Ive got two interviews lined up. I was dismissed from my last job for gross misconduct (i have spoken to several people who said this was not gm but as i was only there for a short time i have no rights)
How do i approach this at interview if asked? What do i do about a reference? I have sent letter and email asking if they would provide a basic reference but no response. I assume they either wont give one or will but state why i was dismissed.
Any advice would be gratefully received. Thanks

Be honest. Explain the situation, don't withhold any information. Depending what the allegation was, it may mean they don't want to employ you. Eg. Fraud and you're applying for a finance role.

You may need to take low paying jobs for 5 years until that employment is fair enough away in your past that you don't need to give a reference for it.

Some of the allegations are true others not. No fraud - using skype and gossiping. Its a total mess i cant stop crying, cant eat (ive lost half a stone since Monday).
Wondering if there is any point going for the interview.

Thanks for the advice.

Always worth a try. Be confident. Hold yourself to account. Explain what changes you've made since and what reflection you've done. I got given a second chance after resigning during an investigation in my early 20s. I worked at a hotel and took a beer from the fridge without asking, put the money in the til but was caught on cctv and they said the till was down not up. They were shit employers and I think it probably was up the £2.50 I put in but I couldn't prove it. I resigned and explained the situation. They gave me a horrible reference, really personal and unprofessional. I got the new job as I was transparent and clear that I took responsibility and that I had learnt my lesson. I had been on the dole for 6 months after leaving the other job and the job I got was a very basic admin role at the council. That allowed me to progress.
