Applied for full time but now job offered is part time. Where do I stand.

I applied for a job which was advertised as full time. At interview said I wanted full time. When called to discuss start date was told job was 22 hours a week!! As I was so unhappy at previous job I accepted and planned two days on the bank as I need full time. I started job three weeks and have just received my contract that says my role is full time. I have not signed it yet. I just wondered where I stood if this was signed and the fact those hours are on the contract.

Not sure what you mean by where do you stand? You were offered 22 hours a week and have presumably been doing that for the last three weeks?

If nothing has been said to you about increasing your hours I would assume the contract is an error. You need to contact your manager/HR/whoever sent you the contract to clarify.

Thanks for your reply. Because I applied for a full time role and was not told until a few weeks before that it was only part time I wondered in employment law if I had a case to say my contract says full time so I want/need full time.
I realise this may cause a difficult situation and I don't want that with a new employer so I guess I have answered my own question and just need to get the contract changed.

what does the contract actually say? I can't tell from your posts? Number of hours per week, number of days per week, is it shift work or fixed hours on certain days etc etc

Well you can’t just start turning up to work full time hours and expect to be paid on the basis of a contract saying that, if it contradicts what you’ve been told and have been working to date. Even if you don’t bring the error to their attention before doing so they’ll obviously wonder what’s happening when you turn up for the extra hours and will deal with the error at that point.

You have to bring it to their attention, at which point they’ll either say oh that’s fine actually there are full time hours available, or they’ll say oh that was an error, here’s a contract reflecting the hours you’ve been working.
